Aurora's baby shower went absolutely perfectly! It was fantastic to see everyone and the food was splendid. Aurora received so many wonderful gifts. What a great day! :) These are the pics from my camera. I'll post more pics once my other photographer friends email me the rest.
The hippo is my favorite animal at the zoo. He spends most of his time laying there in the water looking cute.
The tortoises were huddling together under heat lamps.
Look at the family of giraffes cuddling.
The mom hyrax is keeping her two babies warm. See the little heads poking out.
My hubby and I went to the zoo yesterday while it was raining. There was hardly anyone there, and the animals that weren't hiding from the rain were really active and loving the weather.
On Thursday, September 30, our newest nephew, Luke Anthony Vecchio, was born. When we visited Luke, Janelle, and Phil at the hospital I took an adorable picture of David with Melissa, Amy, and Audrey.
Aurora is 26 weeks old in these photos. She never stopped moving during the ultrasound. Our ultrasound specialist was impressed with how active she was. :)
On Thursday night, we toured the Verdugo Hills Hospital. It was amazing! We were really impressed with the facilities, policies, procedures, and staff. They even have private labor and delivery rooms and postpartum rooms exclusively. At the nursery, we saw four cute babies. One of them was brand new. The tour was free and at the end they gave all of the dads a black diaper bag/backpack. Our tour guide said she wanted them to have something to carry that did not have a bunny or duckie on it.
So, last night David received a kick in the face. He had the side of his face pressed up against my belly to talk to our baby girl & "Boink" she kicked him in the face.
On Saturday, all of Dave's immediate family got together to celebrate Marilyn's birthday. For once, we took a picture of all of us- the first one in a while.
On Friday Dave & I went and hung out with Jana & her cute baby Arthur. Jana & I caught a chick flick while Dave both watched the baby & cooked dinner. Did I marry a superman or what? :)
We just got back from our Ultrasound Specialist and have great news! We're having a baby girl! :) Check out her cute profile. I think she has the cutest nose ever.
My friend Venessa came over on Thursday and we had a blast talking to no end and eating wonderful foods she brought over. Yum... chocolate cake, blueberry muffins, fruit salad. :) The day went by so fast; before I knew it she had to leave. :( I wish more of my friends lived closer. Oh, and the picture attached to this post shows my baby bump on Thursday at 18 1/2 weeks. We will hopefully find out our baby's gender in 5 days at our appointment with an ultrasound specialist. Any guesses as to the gender?
Dave & I had a fantastic time cruisin' the Mexican Riviera with Dave's parents! We visited the ports of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. We went on excursions altogether at both Puerto & Mazatlan. For Puerto, we went on a boat ride to a private beach and resort where we had a Mexican buffet and snorkeled. For Mazatlan, we went to a resort, learned how to make several different kinds of salsa, and then we learned how to salsa dance. At Cabo, the men went snorkeling at Lovers' Cove and the women went for Spa treatments after shopping.
