Far Too Long

What We've Been Up To:

• We moved to Big Bear
• Aurora started preschool at the end of August
• Aurora had her first mani pedi... Thanks Pop! :)
• Aurora can now recognize some letters & numbers & draw the letter "A"
• We bought a piece of land we call "The Hollow" & we are living in a trailer on our own land!
• We found a bullfrog one day & put it in our pond. We call him Mr. Hopper
• We are saving for a house & will hopefully begin construction in the spring
• Whew!

What We've Been Up To:

• Dave has a new job & we moved to Big Bear City on December 3!  Big changes.  We now live 5 minutes away from Dave's immediate family.  Dave's new job is in Palm Springs about 3 weekends a month.  He is runs audio for rock 'n roll broadway type shows at the new Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs.  Aurora & I have been going down to work with Dave & have seen him more than ever more.  It's wonderful!  During the week we live in our rented house in Big Bear.  We are loving it here!  
• Aurora has named some of my toes & pretends that they are babies.  Some of the names include: Rosy, Orangey, Squeezy, Charlie, & Heidi.  She takes care of my babies by giving them food, drink, cuddles them to sleep, & changes their diapers.

Quotes From Aurora:

• While swimming at a pool, 2 gentlemen in speedos join us.  Aurora says, "Mommy, they're wearing swim diapers!"
• Aurora put one of her dolls to bed in her treasure box.  She pointed to it and said, "This is the babysittin area."
• We were driving in the car one day.  Dave & I asked Aurora if she wanted to sing Old Mac Donald or Wheels on the Bus.  She said, "The Car Song".  We asked her how it went.  She sang, "The car on the street goes honk, honk, honk...".
• Aurora accidentally fell in a small trashcan in our room and said, "I fell in the trash can."
• Aurora prayed the other night, "Luke wasn't ready to play with me yet.  God, give Luke uh oh time."
• "Mommy, it's time for your checkup."
• "My belly needs a kiss."
• When she's ready for her bath at night she strips off her clothes & says, "It's nakey time!"
• Aurora walked up to a teenager wearing ripped jeans & said, "Your pants have rips... I'm sorry."

Busy, Busy

What We've Been Up To:

Here's a new post.  Finally!  We have been keeping ourselves busy- especially Aurora.  She is brilliant, curious, mischievous, exploratory, currently potty training (what a long process it has been & will be), growing like a weed, and so much more.  Aurora has a long attention span for arts & crafts: especially putting stickers on papers, drawing, & coloring.  We are looking forward to some nice fall weather.  Email me how you are doing.

2 Years and Change

What We've Been Up To:

1. Moved to Pasadena to live with Pop/Gpa- now Aurora has a gated backyard to run around in & her own room! :)
2. Dave is taking the train to work more often since we are only 1 mile away from a train station, so I get the car more often.
3. I have a new niece, Sierra, who was born on March 28, 2013. Congratulations Angela & Remy! :D
4. Aurora' second hair trim in April.
5. Easter at church all together.
6. On my birthday, April 12, I had a lovely tea with some close friends.
7. Aurora & I have had craft time together at least two times a week starting the beginning of April.
8. In April I started teaching Aurora how to hold & use scissors.
9. Aurora has memorized parts of her favorite books & author's names including: Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish, and Hop on Pop & Green Eggs & Ham by Dr. Seuss.
10. Aurora colors with crayons & colored pencils several times a day.
11. Aurora recognizes the letter "O".
12. When we are out of the house Aurora has started introduces us to strangers & friends.  Aurora says, "And this is Mommy.  This is Daddy."
13. Aurora throws a ball much more accurately now.  Playing catch with her is even more fun.  
14. We play outside together at one or two times a day at least.
15. Aurora will ask me to make tuna noodle casserole for her at least 2 times a week.
16. She is very creative!  She pretends to make us food & takes care of her dolls & ponies.
17. Aurora has several different dance moves and sings several different songs.

Aurora's 2nd Birthday Party!

Firsts: Our little family flew to Florida to visit my parents for the first week and half; this was Aurora's first time to Florida.  She made friends with everyone she saw at the airport and on our flight.  Dave snorkeled with Papa.

Health: We finally got over our colds!  Yay!  Also, I can walk with no crutches now.

Christmas: Dave's been enjoying cooking.  He and his little brother cooked an 18 lb prime rib for Christmas dinner.  It was delicious!  We went to Big Bear for Christmas Eve and Christmas.  The day after Christmas was Dave's little sister's birthday.  We went to Uncle Rich and Aunt Dana's house and visited their farm.  Aurora fed three horses carrots, played with a mini horse, and sat briefly upon Captain, the biggest horse.

Princess Party!: Aurora had a blast at her 2nd birthday party.  She dressed up as Princess Aurora & her Auntie Rach dressed up as the fairy Merryweather.  It was a nice sunny but chilly day.  The kids enjoyed playing at the playground we were right next to.
